GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users, achieve the best value for their money.
Government of Odisha have signed a MoU with GeM for onboarding on 5th March, 2017. Besides, to facilitate procurement through GeM, Odisha General Financial Rule has been amended in November, 2017 in line with provision contained In Rule 149 of General Financial Rules, 2017.
For effective adoption, co-ordination and capacity building, State GeM Procurement Unit (SGeMPU) is functioning under the administrative control of Director of Treasuries & Inspection, Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
